  1. Hi David – another trick I read about but haven’t tried when shooting with a macro lens is to use a tripod and then focus in several areas on the subject to get focus in all areas and then combine the images in an app that allows to layer and mask. I really want to try that out soon.

    Great idea to go painterly with out of focus images!

    • Focus stacking. I’m familiar with that technique, using a DSLR, and photoshop. It sounds like a little too much work on the iPhone for me. You’d need to manually focus and create quite a few images to expand the depth of field. More power to people that have the patience for that!
