I have some exciting news to share. I’m going to be helping Meri Walker teach iPhoneography to a class of 6th graders, starting this month. I think its pretty cool that this is being considered art in a public school. When I first started playing with my iPhone, I sure never thought I would be teaching iPhoneography in a school setting one day. It should be a lot of fun teaching the kids how to create art on their mobile devices, over 6 weeks time. I’m sure I’ll be sharing that experience on here, in the coming weeks.
About today’s image…
I dusted off my iPro macro lens this weekend, and stalked ants in the kitchen. I know this isn’t normal behavior, but I didn’t have anything better to do that day.
I wanted to see how much detail I could capture of an ant, and I wanted to see how big I could make them in a reasonably sized image. I ended up cropping in pretty tight on the image, but thats fine, since I had no intention of printing this.
I edited with Snapseed, and then used Circular+ to create a mirrored image.
Now, there is a real ant crawling on the screen of my iMac, right over this macro image. How confused must that guy be?
