Its back to the comfort zone today, with some beautiful golden light on the valley.
I almost didn’t go out for sunset. Actually, I haven’t been going out to shoot sunset much, since I moved. I really need to fdo some scouting. Luckily, I texted Shannon a photo I took from my room, of the clouds in the sky, and she convinced me I needed to catch the sunset, since it looked like there was a lot of potential.
I ended up driving to Mt. Ashland, for views like this one. Unfortunately, those clouds that showed promise weren’t over here. It turns out, I didn’t need those clouds. The gold light that exploded from the sun literally killed my phone. My battery went from 50% to dead after the light got really intense. Weird coincidence, I’m sure.
I guess the line from the movie, Wild, was right. She was talking about how she used to watch the sunrise and sunset with her mother, who taught her that you have to put yourself in the way of beauty. You’re not going to catch a golden display like this from your bedroom.
Btw, Wild was a pretty good movie, and it was filmed here in Ashland. I don’t like how they portrayed Ashland as a hippie mecca. Sure there are plenty of hippies, but I don’t think its as bad as they made it out to be haha.
