I recently got to take some photos of my 6 week old nephew, Julian. I only took one with my iPhone because I was too busy using my Nikon. The first one was shot using a Tokina 11-16mm. I wanted a wide angle to capture the woods I placed him in. Don’t worry, the eucalyptus grove is practically right outside my parent’s backdoor, so I didn’t keep the little guy outside for long. Btw, super wide angle lenses usually aren’t used for portraiture.
This shot was taken with a 50mm 1.8 lens.
What I took away from this shoot is babies are hard to take photos of. You can’t tell them to smile, or look at you, or stop crying. He was really good though. I think he only got upset once.
