Today I’ll give you all some free advice. Don’t get kidney stones. Ever. Actually, you should go drink a tall glass of water after you finish reading this post.
I ended up in the hospital last week because the pain made me think I was about to die. This is my second bout with kidney stones and both times sent me to the ER for hours. I haven’t passed this one yet and everyday I wake up hoping today isn’t the day it will. I’ve been lucky to have a couple of pain-free days between the horrible days. The day after the bad days, I’m usually left in a thick fog from the meds, unable to do anything productive. Sounds fun doesn’t it.
This was taken somewhere in Connecticut. I couldn’t tell you where, but it was an absolutely gorgeous location in autumn. There were a number of waterfalls that we shot along the creek. As we sat and admired one waterfall, beneath the golden trees, with nobody else around, I felt like this was a place I could stay forever. I love finding locations that elicit that feeling. Just going through those photos puts a smile on my face and makes me happy.
Of course, it helps to have the best company with you. Normally, my adventures are solo ones, but appreciating the beauty of nature with a fellow photographer that appreciates the scene in front of you makes it all the better. A little friendly competition is good too :).
I miss you east coast…
