Clouds and Trees

This scene almost looks fake to me because of the size of the clouds compared to the eucalyptus and oak trees.

I tried to edit this solely with filterstorm because I’m working on a review of that app, but it crashed right after I spent a long time masking in a curves layer (so frustrating.) I ended up using trusty, easy to use Snapseed. No need to mask anything and I can still adjust specific areas.

I did use filterstorm afterwards to clean up some noise, apply a very subtle vignette, and try the tone mapping feature. That app seems pretty complex and is going to require some serious attention before I can give it a proper review.

A Local Trail

Theres an open space preserve down the street from my house that hardly anyone knows about because it’s sort of hidden. It’s a cool place to explore because there is an oak grove right next to a eucalyptus grove and a little creek running through them both. The locals say its haunted by “the white lady” who searches the creek at night for her kids that drowned there. It definitely has a creepy vibe to me, especially under the eucs, but I’ve never seen the white lady.

Walk On

I like to go places where people are outnumbered by trees. This is a short trail in Arroyo Grande, CA where you rarely bump into anyone.
