We had s’mores while camping recently. Once you get that awesome taste in your mouth again, you want some more. Living by the beach where you can build a bonfire and make them while watching the sunset is pretty awesome, but sometimes you don’t want the hassle of setting everything up.
I was looking for a little instant gratification yesterday, so I made this over a flame on the stovetop. Still just as delicious! I think writing this blog post is making me crave another one. I’m off to the kitchen…

It had just rained a lot the previous few days, but there was still some haze over Eugene yesterday. I thought I’d try to get a decent pic with ProHDR anyways.
While I was out exploring downtown, I stopped at Voodoo Doughnuts. I had no idea that more people hadn’t heard of them before. They’re famous for their crazy doughnuts. The main store is in Portland, and they have one in Eugene as well. Lucky for me, this one didn’t have a line around the corner.
This is the Old Dirty Bastard. Raised chocolate doughnut with oreos and peanut butter. It was amazing! I’ll be making a stop there today on my way out of town to grab a half dozen for my friends.
Another shot from the fields the other evening. This is whats left after the harvest. If any of you buy those fresh express bagged salads, this is where some of the lettuce comes from. They have a factory about a mile from this spot.

I’ll share a new way to eat your eggo’s. I know this recipe might sound a little weird, but its good…especially if you’re a fan of peanut butter. I first saw one of my brother’s friends making this back when I was a teenager. I thought he was just weird until I tried it. All you need are frozen waffles, peanut butter, and brown sugar.
Toast the waffles in the toaster, then spread peanut butter on one side of both waffles. Put a few spoonfulls of brown sugar on top of the peanut butter and put the waffles together to make a delicious sandwich. Enjoy.
Time for another cinemagram. I thought it might be cool to have the flames dancing on the dirty stove. More importantly, this gives me an excuse to ask if you have any good recipes to share. I”m in the mood to make something sweet and delicious this weekend. If you found something amazing on pinterest or have your own recipe, please share
Oh. My. God. They’re so good. I made some again last night with a friend. We changed the recipe that I shared weeks ago. Sorry I can’t share a link to that post right now cuz I’m posting from my phone. I really just wanted to brag about how amazing these turned out because I just ate another one and have to tell somebody.
Last time I did a white chocolate shell. This time we used Safeway brand milk chocolate chips and I wanted to try Reese’s peanut butter chips. The Reese’s didn’t melt too well so we added a little oil to give it a better consistency. We also used some off brand Oreos, at her insistence. Don’t worry, I put my foot down when she wanted low fat anything.
Another thing we did different this time is we used the whole stick of cream cheese. Mostly because I did a bad job of supervising haha. It was totally fine though. We ended up with a creamier consistency.
The picture was something I just snapped really quick to make everyone on Facebook hate us. If the chocolate covered Oreo truffles look messy it’s all her fault. She wouldn’t let any drop of chocolate or peanut butter go to waste and the aesthetics suffered for it. The plan was to use half of each bag but we ended up getting gratuitous and melting both bags.
The Reese’s ones are still good, but the milk chocolate are amazing. You should definitely look up my Oreo truffles post and try this recipe out.
