I’m sure you’ve heard about Instagram selling out to Facebook for a billion dollars. I was never into Instagram, but now that FB owns it, I definitely won’t be using it. There are alternatives out there, one of them being Tadaa.
I just read about this app on ashcroft54′s blog. I won’t go through the trouble of making a walkthrough because Tina already did a good job. You can go read it here.
There are a few things to love about this free app.
- The clarity slider is very similar to the clarity filter in camera+
- The tilt shift generator is pretty good
- All of the filters have an opacity slider
- Some of the filters are actually really good
- The most appealing thing to me is your copyright is respected and you retain control of your images.
I’d say its worth checking out. Most free apps don’t have this many good features.
If you want to follow me, my username is iphonephotog. I’d be happy to follow you back.

Thanks for reccomending! I downloaded the app, signed up, and added you! Going to post some of my stuff on there now and mess aroudn a bit
No problem. The app seems a bit sluggish at times with all the new people signing up. I have to say its already a little addicting. One of my images was trending today after someone with lots of followers shared it
I noticed the slugishness as well, frustrating, but still very addictiing!!! That is awesome that one of your images was trending on there
Sweet!
Tadaa is addictive and very nice indeed. I reviewed it here: http://egichomo.wordpress.com/2012/04/13/tadaa-the-best-instagram-alternative-for-iphoneographers-review/
I’ve also followed you. My user name is eGichomo
I look forward to your photos
Thanks Evans. I like your leaf photo with the water drops.
Thank you David! I’m glad you like it. It’s one of my best pics man..
Tadaa is interesting, EyeEm is worth a look too – has some good features, such as creating albums around certain events or locations. I did a short interview with the boss of Tadaa, may be interesting – http://rab.bt/tadaaapp
Thanks Dirk. That was an interesting read. I didn’t give instagram more than 2 minutes of my time because I hated it that much. Tadaa, on the otherhand, has me hooked and I’m checking in throughout the day.
